What are people’s general thoughts on this? I don’t usually drink a lot of juices and prefer, instead, to drink water or teas mostly (with some coffee thrown in). However, this stuff piqued my interest. Is it good or just empty calories? Thoughts….

This is sometimes (most of the time) what I feel I look like at the gym… haha.

Cold is pretty much gone! A few sniffles, but I can pretty much breathe normal. Back to the gym!
Getting a cold severely impedes achieving ones goals for the week.
Who wants to go to the gym when you can’t even really breathe properly to start with? Also - who wants me at the gym?
Doing really well with the water/green tea goal though! No pop so far this week.
It’s a short week because of the holiday today so that makes it a great time to set some goals;
I need song suggestions for a good workout playlist. Send ‘em on over…
I’ve long been jealous of runners.
When I see a women jogging, her pony tail bouncing up and down as she rhythmically makes her way down the street, listening to an iPod, I’m jealous. They always seem completely in their own world, relaxed and I just wish I could do that. Sadly, I’ve never been a runner. Ever.
However, I’ve been thinking about it a lot lately and maybe trying to slowly build my way up to it. The video I posted the other day offered some inspiration and then last night, I found some more in the most unlikely of places.
I went to a stag and doe with a friend and ran into one of her neighbours. Out of the blue, she starts talking about how she took up running last year and worked her way up from being able to run only 5 minutes up to the point now where she can run 30 minutes without stopping and has done 5 ks and more.
I ended up finishing 2012 down 9 lbs. While it’s not as good as I had hoped when I started the year (especially after my initial 30-something pound loss), it’s still a loss.
When the new year rolled around in January, I decided this is going to be a big year for me. At the end of November I turn 30 and it’s time I got everything on track. I’ve tackled my debt problem, have started saving money and now it’s time I get serious about my health. Obviously, no one else is going to magically take the pounds away for me. I have to do it myself.
The other day I watched this video, I’m sure some of you may have seen it before…
I went to his blog and started reading from the beginning. Where he started and how he did it on a regular basis. Not only was I impressed by his ability to do it, I was impressed by his dedication to documenting every part of it, from start to finish. In his blog, he indicated he had many false starts leading up to the one that finally took.
I’m hoping this is will be my last time “starting” the process. I want to just keep going.
There’s no better motivation to get your butt into the gym than renovations at home. Right now, we’re redoing the bathroom and the shower is out of commission. What’s a girl to do?
Hit the gym and then use the shower there.
I’ve been trying to eat healthier too. Expect a longer post tomorrow. I’m back and I’ll be blogging about it. Stay tuned.
